Field Sales Consultant, Home Services, Exteriors

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Home Services Sales Consultant in Alpharetta, GA, to sell exterior and interior products and services to customers. The role is mostly outside sales: visiting customer homes and trade shows, with the majority of working time spent traveling and away from a dedicated office. It reports to the Sales Manager and has no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Make sales calls at customer homes, assess needs, recommend tailored products and negotiate customized price quotes
• Present warranty information and financing options, and maintain profitability
• Complete sales contracts and paperwork, and take measurements to ensure orders meet installation specifications
• Solicit new customers inside assigned stores and at industry events such as Home Shows
• Maintain local relationships, educate store associates on HDIS offerings and raise awareness of HDIS programs
• Seek referrals and attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques

Required profile

• At least 1 year of previous related work experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Able to work in the United States; preferred candidates have prior in-home or virtual sales experience, home improvement industry experience, lead generation experience and computer skills

Required skills

• Ability to stand or walk continuously and lift moderate-weight materials (8-20 pounds)
• Typical overnight travel of 5% of the time
• Exposure to dust, fumes or odors
