Outside Sales Representative - Pro Account Sales

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) in Gainesville, GA, to drive incremental sales growth and profitability through account relationships, with a focus on complex business expansion and new business development. The OSR monitors key performance indicators for assigned professional customers and meets or exceeds sales and margin targets by working with the Pro Sales Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate net-new sales relationships using local community events to promote the Pro brand and expand complex business, while selling all products and services including commercial credit, volume pricing, delivery, will-call pickup and online ordering.
• Meet individual account targets and quotas, and partner with the Inside Sales Support Representative on quoting, ordering and transactions.
• Prospect for new business using leads from the internal Sales Development team and from existing customers, stores and the community.
• Manage customer relationships using Salesforce to plan calls, keep communications going and maintain a healthy pipeline.
• Attend district and regional meetings as needed and report weekly activities to the Pro Sales Manager.

Required profile

• Able to work 18 years or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED; minimum 2 years of work experience (5 years preferred).
• Preferred: 2 years of account management or sales management experience, 2+ years in home improvement or home building, and a high-paced retail background.
• Typical reporting line to the Pro Sales Manager, with 0 direct reports; 20-50% overnight travel.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (preferred)
• Use of Salesforce for sales planning and pipeline management (preferred)
• Strong communication, negotiation and persuasion skills, and relationship-building across the organization
