Federal Work-Study Concessions Assistant (Basketball Games)

About the role

The State of Georgia and South Georgia Technical College are seeking a Federal Work-Study student to operate the concession stand during home basketball games. This part‑time position supports the Athletics Office by delivering food, beverage, and customer service to fans on game nights.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages in a fast‑paced environment.
• Process cash and card transactions accurately.
• Restock supplies and set up the concession area before each game.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area throughout the event.
• Provide friendly, courteous service to patrons.
• Assist with post‑game cleanup and inventory reconciliation.

Required profile

• Enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester with at least six credit hours.
• Approved for Federal Student Aid for the 2026‑2027 award year and eligible for Federal Work‑Study.
• In satisfactory academic progress and able to pass a criminal background and credit check.
• Complete all required SGTC employment paperwork before starting.
• Available to work evenings and weekends according to the home basketball game schedule.

Required skills

• Basic cash handling and point‑of‑sale operation.

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a team setting.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $10.00.
• Up to 20 work hours per week, not exceeding 225 hours per semester.
