Facility Maintenance Technician III

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician III for its facility operations and maintenance team in Utica, NY. Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm, which may vary with business demand and may later follow an AWS schedule; overtime and on-call hours may also be scheduled. Pay ranges from $25 to $33 per hour depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor building automation systems to maintain a cleanroom environment and its integrity.
• Review service requests, determine the nature of the problem and recommend solutions.
• Perform repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, fixtures and systems, including troubleshooting facility systems.
• Coordinate work with outside contractors and ensure code and building standards are met.
• Document work as needed and assist in moving furniture, materials and equipment.
• Work according to dispatched service or daily/weekly schedules and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; 3 years of experience in the area of specialization.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and climb ladders and stairs at least 10 times per shift.
• Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stretch and reach repeatedly, and to walk extensively through the plant.
• Willingness to work overtime when required; a valid driver's license may be required.
• No sponsorship for U.S. work authorization is provided.

Preferred qualifications

• Associate degree in industrial technology or certificate in industrial electrical courses.
• Licensed electrician experience and knowledge of lighting, lighting control and commercial systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and replacing 3-phase motors up to 60 hp, HVAC systems, and a CMMS such as Maximo or MP2.
• NFPA-70E training preferred.
