General Maintenance Technician IV - Electrical Controls

About the role

Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician IV - Electrical Controls for its industrial maintenance team in Utica, NY. The technician provides an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on building and facility equipment, fixtures and systems in an industrial, large commercial or logistics environment. Typical hours are Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with possible overtime, on-call duty and weekend or holiday work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor and R.O. systems, overhead cranes, ventilation equipment, rooftop HVAC, forklift equipment, pumps and motors, and plumbing and water systems
• Repair industrial and commercial lighting, dock locks and levelers, and office furniture, windows and doors
• Diagnose and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, including VAV and AHU systems
• Inspect and repair roofing systems, and maintain walkways, roadways and facility structures
• Document and enter PM and repair data into the CMMS, and respond to customers on work orders
• Safely operate forklifts, hoists and cranes, and follow lockout/tagout and PPE requirements

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities or equipment in an industrial environment
• Ability to work in an aerial or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet and to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to obtain a security access badge and possibly a valid driver's license
• No sponsorship for U.S. work authorization; benefits may vary by employment type and location

Required skills

• Ability to work safely around 480V 3-phase electrical circuits and to troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Preferred: associate degree in industrial electrical, industrial technology or HVAC; experience with 480V 3-phase components, PLCs and ladder logic
• Preferred: experience with lighting and controls, HVAC, conveyors and R.O. systems, and forklift operation
