Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Silicon Labs Packaging Organization designs and creates semiconductor packages through R&D and partnerships with top-tier factories. As Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the Manufacturing Technology team, helping NPIs and production qualifications that are critical for product time to market and business continuity. The role also exposes you to Assembly/Package Engineering, Reliability Engineering and Failure Analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Support Assembly and Module NPIs and the second sourcing program, working with CMs and OSATs to source new materials and research new BOMs with suppliers, documenting results in the system
• Take part in design reviews with Package Engineering, accept design files from CMs and OSATs, and document design and BOM approvals
• Create engineering builds, follow up on build requests and document reports in the system
• Support Reliability Lab activities with the Reliability Engineer, including chamber operations, equipment maintenance and calibration coordination, and tracking qualification lot progress
• Support the Device Analysis team on qualification-related failures, set up a tracking system and process flow, and document procedures for failed units

Required profile

• Diploma in any related engineering field
• At least 2 years of experience in an Assembly Manufacturing or Reliability Lab environment
• Good communication skills
