Facilities Engineer

About the role

The Facilities Engineer monitors and evaluates contractor performance for maintenance, repair, and installation of facilities equipment and systems. The role supports production uptime by analysing downtime data and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Review work completion data, contractor recommendations and equipment logs to optimise preventive maintenance and reduce operating costs.
• Analyse production downtime, conduct root‑cause analysis and share lessons learned across teams.
• Monitor key performance indicators, identify negative trends and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and schedule contractor activities, screen work requests and assign tasks based on capability, availability and cost.
• Support project planning, budgeting and provide weekend/holiday assistance as needed.
• Conduct audits of work quality, 5S, safety, and contractor invoices to ensure compliance with Bosch standards and legal requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, facilities management or related field.
• Minimum 2 years supervising skilled trades in an industrial or facility maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E and relevant safety regulations.
• Ability to interpret equipment monitoring data and diagnostic reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management software (SAP preferred).
• Understanding of HVAC, boiler, chiller, air‑compressor systems and related analysis techniques (vibration, oil/water, infrared).
• Familiarity with fire‑alarm system operation.
