Facilities Engineer – HVAC & Mechanical Maintenance

About the role

Join the facilities team at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, as a Facilities Engineer. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the resort’s mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems to ensure guest comfort and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other installed systems.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC equipment and the Building Automation System (BAS).
• Repair and service central plant chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, refrigeration, fire & safety equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in back‑of‑house mechanical rooms.
• Coordinate and oversee contracted preventive‑maintenance services.
• Conduct regular facility inspections, document conditions, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and Disney policies.
• Maintain accurate records for inspections, warranties, service schedules, and asset maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, HVAC failures, and security issues.
• Support fire evacuation planning, disaster response, and emergency preparedness documentation.
• Assist with inventory management, purchasing, reporting, and budget tracking.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Universal HVAC Certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance experience, or 5 years combined with relevant education.
• Knowledge of MEP systems (mechanical/HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
