Part‑Time Dive Technician – $34.56/hr

About the role

The Dive Technician supports all animal‑program dive activities at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa on O'ahu. This part‑time position blends marine animal care, water‑quality management, and guest interaction in a vibrant oceanfront setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist guest dive programs such as SAS and Underwater Explorers, handling video and photography equipment.
• Monitor and clean animal habitats, removing debris and maintaining water‑treatment pads.
• Perform basic animal husbandry tasks, including food preparation, feeding programs, and habitat rotation.
• Ensure dive safety and strict water‑quality standards in line with the aquatic animal health program.
• Document activities, maintain records, and report mechanical discrepancies to facilities leadership.

Required profile

• Positive, collaborative attitude when working with animal‑program, husbandry, and maintenance teams.
• Calm problem‑solving ability and strong attendance record.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure.

Required skills

• NAUI Scuba Instructor Certification.
• Knowledge of water‑filtration components (filters, valves, pumps, disinfection processes).
• Familiarity with SCADA control systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic PC‑based software.
