Experienced Paralegal – Family Law (Louisiana)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join a busy family law practice in Louisiana. The role involves supporting attorneys with client communication, document preparation, and deadline management in a high‑volume environment. You will work closely with the legal team on complex domestic matters while contributing to a collaborative firm culture.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and revise pleadings, motions, letters, and other legal documents for family law cases.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing case updates and gathering required information.
• Track important dates, manage attorney schedules, and ensure court deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
• File pleadings and supporting materials with state and local courts in accordance with filing rules.
• Organize exhibits, witness materials, case records, and attorney binders for hearings and trials.
• Assemble discovery materials, maintain accurate case documentation, and keep files organized throughout litigation.
• Coordinate hearings, mediations, depositions, and other legal proceedings with internal and external participants.
• Provide ongoing litigation support from initial filing through case resolution.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years of paralegal experience with a strong focus on family law.
• Familiarity with Louisiana family law practices and court filing procedures preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to draft accurate legal documents, motions, and correspondence.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline‑driven environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with legal case management systems.
