Epileptologist – Neurology Specialist

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks an experienced neurologist/epileptologist to join its academic epilepsy practice. The position may include medical directorship of the epilepsy surgery program or leadership of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), depending on qualifications and interests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for patients with epilepsy, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Lead and develop the epilepsy surgery program or the EMU, overseeing staff, protocols, and quality improvement.
• Interpret EEG studies and long‑term video EEG monitoring, supporting network‑wide EEG reading services.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, social workers, and advanced practice professionals.

Required profile

• Board‑certified neurologist with fellowship training in epilepsy.
• Experience in medical directorship or leadership of an epilepsy program or EMU.
• Commitment to academic medicine, education, and research.

Required skills

• EEG interpretation and long‑term video EEG monitoring.
• Management of a 24/7 EMU and neuro‑intensive care unit.
• Knowledge of epilepsy surgery program development.
