About the role

Fathom Management is hiring an experienced Enterprise Architect to support a Department of Veterans Affairs project. The role focuses on financial systems, healthcare claims processing, enterprise integration, cloud modernization, and legacy transformation, requiring hands‑on architecture work.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts such as cloud, legacy, infrastructure, and integration diagrams.
  • Evaluate technical alternatives and produce architecture decision records.
  • Document detailed infrastructure specifications, network, security, and data models.
  • Collaborate directly with engineers and technical teams to implement designs.
  • Support migration of legacy applications to hybrid cloud environments.

Required profile

  • ~15 years of overall IT experience with 3‑5 years of hands‑on Enterprise Architecture.
  • Proven experience in financial processing and healthcare claims, preferably in Federal Government settings.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

  • AWS, Azure, Hybrid Cloud architecture.
  • IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, iFAMS, X12, HL7.
  • Federal Enterprise Architecture, VAAF, FEA, FSAM, DoDAF, TOGAF.
