Engineer / Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Engineer / Maintenance Technician ensures the Hilton Garden Inn’s facilities, equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently, supporting guest satisfaction and Hilton brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance in guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Respond promptly to guest service requests and emergency calls.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness, manage inventory and keep accurate work logs.
• Support safety systems such as fire alarms and sprinklers and comply with OSHA regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certification preferred.
• 1–3 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, work on ladders and in confined spaces.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication and customer‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics and blueprints.
• EPA certification and/or boiler license is a plus.
