Emergency Department RN - Per Diem (Mid-Level)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a registered nurse for its emergency department on a seasonal per diem basis. The position requires a minimum of 3 shifts per week between October 2026 and May 2027, and additional details are covered during screening and interview.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients, planning, directing and evaluating nursing care across physical, developmental, emotional, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and functional dimensions.
• Assess patients to establish a baseline and a standard of care, then reassess as needs change.
• Follow established nursing objectives, standards, policies and procedures, and ensure accurate documentation and adequate supplies.
• Act as an educator for patients, families and peers, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• PALS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• NIHSS training available through various organizations and learning systems.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs, and to work in a stressful environment.

Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance program, and maintenance of professional licenses and certifications are also required.
