Electrician – Construction/Installations (Sanford, FL)

About the role

SPATCO is seeking an energetic electrician to join its team in the Sanford, FL area. The role involves reading blueprints, installing and maintaining electrical systems, and ensuring safe operation of petroleum‑related equipment. You will work on a variety of projects, from conduit installation to troubleshooting complex electrical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical and electronic equipment used in the petroleum industry.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems using ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers.
• Install conduits, pull wire, and make final connections to circuit breakers, pumps, dispensers, POS consoles and lighting.
• Inspect electrical systems for compliance with safety codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Advise management and coworkers about hazards and assist estimators with material take‑off and cost allowances.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of journeyman electrician experience.
• Knowledge of electrician standards and codes.
• Ability to lift 75‑100 lb and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Use of hand and power tools, including conduit benders.
• Operation of ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, cable testers, ohm meters and megger.
• Conduit installation and wire pulling.
• Understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.
