Electrical Engineer – Advanced Aircraft Launch Systems

About the role

MANTECH seeks a motivated Electrical Engineer to support critical naval aviation infrastructure in Lakehurst, NJ. The role focuses on the design, development, testing, and lifecycle support of advanced aircraft launch and recovery equipment (EMALS/AAG) for U.S. Navy carriers.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional engineering groups to design, evaluate, and troubleshoot advanced electrical components and systems for EMALS/AAG.
• Generate and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and comprehensive system documentation.
• Lead engineering investigations to diagnose system anomalies, execute complex repairs, and provide technical recommendations.
• Conduct field testing and validation to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and military performance standards.
• Respond to urgent shipboard service calls, author technical procedures, and travel up to 25% to remote test sites and Navy vessels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with power electronics, electrical control networks, and system diagnostics.
• Current or obtainable U.S. passport and active Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MATLAB or similar data analysis tools.
• Experience with C#, C++, and interpreting complex XML documents.
• Knowledge of defense industry standards and MIL‑STDs.
• Familiarity with EMALS, AAG, or legacy aircraft launch and recovery machinery (preferred).
