Electrical Coordinator

About the role

The Electrical Coordinator will work at 3M's Hutchinson plant, providing expert electrical support and leading maintenance programs. You will collaborate with global 3M teams to ensure reliable, safe, and compliant electrical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ensure all electrical work meets state standards and codes, and coordinate regular inspections with electrical inspectors.
• Design, procure, and install electrical systems, including control panels, conduit, and robotics, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls.
• Maintain detailed documentation such as logbooks, prints, program backups, and software revisions.
• Support plant engineering and manufacturing teams to improve equipment reliability and participate in continuous‑improvement activities.
• Follow safety practices, report unsafe conditions, and perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working at heights or in confined spaces.

Required profile

• Valid Class A/B Master Electrician license from the State of Minnesota and ability to register as the Responsible Licensed Individual for the plant.
• At least five years of electrical experience in a commercial/industrial setting, with ability to read and update electrical prints.
• Willingness to work overtime, respond to after‑hour call‑ins, and travel domestically as needed.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work well with others, and documentation proficiency.
• Physical ability to lift, pull, bend, climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights or in confined spaces.

Required skills

• Master Electrician licensing and state code compliance.
• Electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
• Control panel building, conduit installation, and technical assistance to maintenance personnel.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic symbols, computer/network fundamentals, and powered material handling equipment operation.
