ECE Coach – Early Childhood Education Coach for Multiple Counties

About the role

The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, developing, monitoring and completing project initiatives for early care and learning programs in Liberty, Bryan, Chatham and Effingham counties. Under the supervision of the ECE Zone Manager, the ECE Coach provides state‑approved trainings and coaching services to help providers meet Georgia’s quality standards. This is a grant‑funded position within the Child Care Resource and Referral department of Savannah Technical College.

Key responsibilities

• Provide systematic, accountable quality‑improvement coaching to child care centers and family child care homes participating in the Quality Rated system.
• Conduct assessments of providers, develop collaborative Plans of Action, and assist with implementation through visits, consultations and resource referrals.
• Track coaching activities, maintain records, generate reports and present progress updates to management.
• Deliver provider education and training, facilitate professional learning communities, and maintain trainer designations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, human services, early childhood education or a related field.
• Ability to meet Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning trainer requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills, self‑starter attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and appropriate insurance.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience using networked databases for data entry and reporting.
• Familiarity with early‑childhood rating scales such as ITERS, ECERS, FCCERS, SACERS and Quality Rated.
