District Administrator

About the role

The District Administrator leads accounting and financial operations for the North Health District, ensuring mission alignment, strategic goals, and a strong fiscal culture. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role supports public health initiatives across the district.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all accounting and administrative functions for District 2 Public Health, applying GAAP and developing internal controls.
• Prepare and submit required financial reports to DPH and external agencies, manage budgets, and oversee vendor contracts.
• Serve as the primary contact for federal, state, and local audits and evaluate annual operating budgets.
• Identify grant opportunities, develop proposals, and expand fiscal resources for the district.

Required profile

• Minimum 5‑7 years in healthcare management or government finance, with emphasis on budgeting, procurement, payroll, and contract management.
• At least 3‑5 years managing federal funds and complying with OMB Circulars.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and five years of professional accounting experience, including three years in a supervisory role.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using SAGE 100 financial software.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and grant financial compliance.
