Director of Salesforce

About the role

The Director of Salesforce will lead the University Information Services (UIS) Salesforce ecosystem at Georgetown University. This senior position combines strategic planning, technical leadership, and hands‑on development to ensure the platform supports the university’s mission and stakeholder needs.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Office of Advancement, to translate business requirements into effective Salesforce solutions.
• Design, develop, test, document, and deploy custom Salesforce features, Apex code, and integrations with external systems.
• Lead code reviews and enforce high‑quality development practices.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain platform stability.
• Define and champion best practices for architecture, data integration, and governance across the Salesforce ecosystem.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience as a Salesforce Developer or in a comparable IT role.
• Proven experience with enterprise‑level databases and large‑scale platform implementations.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Salesforce platform development (Apex, validation rules, custom objects, page layouts).
• Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (required) and MuleSoft Developer certification (required); Platform Developer II preferred.
• Experience with APIs, data management tools, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of Salesforce administration (roles, profiles, record types, reports).
