About the role

Wise Path Recovery Center is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations within its substance‑use disorder and behavioral health program. This senior, hands‑on role combines clinical expertise with leadership to ensure safe, compassionate, recovery‑oriented care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership and oversight for all nursing services, including scheduling and patient coverage.
• Develop, recruit, onboard, coach, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering a high‑performing team.
• Establish and maintain nursing workflows, communication practices, and shift handoff processes.
• Oversee nursing supplies, medication handling, and medical operations to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Partner with medical, clinical, operational, and executive leadership to shape standards, best practices, and accreditation readiness.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) with extensive clinical experience in behavioral health or substance‑use disorder settings.
• Proven leadership experience managing nursing teams in a residential or acute‑care environment.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional direct patient care coverage.
