Director of Marketing

About the role

Citizen, the leading safety app in the United States, is looking for a Director of Marketing to own and scale its full‑stack marketing function. Reporting directly to the Founder, you will drive acquisition, re‑engagement and enterprise growth while managing a budget, agency partners and a team of agents you build.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute storytelling and brand strategy across social, video, press and product experiences.
• Lead product‑marketing and cross‑functional initiatives for feature launches, city expansions and strategic partnerships.
• Build and run a B2B marketing engine: positioning, messaging, collateral and go‑to‑market plans for enterprise verticals.
• Own paid‑media acquisition on Meta, TikTok and Apple Search Ads, optimizing spend and creative at scale.
• Develop and scale a creator program to generate high‑quality content that boosts week‑1 retention and in‑app engagement.

Required profile

• Proven leader who has owned a full marketing function end‑to‑end for at least five years.
• High agency: can design, ship and iterate on tools and processes without waiting for others.
• Storyteller who can turn real‑time safety moments into compelling brand narratives.
• Data‑driven decision maker who tracks CAC, LTV, MAU and other key metrics.
