Director of Genitourinary Pathology

About the role

Join a nationally recognized academic medical center as the Director of Genitourinary (GU) Pathology. This senior leadership role oversees a high‑volume GU service, guides departmental strategy, and contributes to teaching and research in a collaborative, sub‑specialized environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a dedicated GU pathology team, supervising multiple pathologists.
• Oversee high‑volume GU sign‑out and ensure quality across the department.
• Shape departmental policies, strategic direction, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary collaboration, teaching, and research programs.

Required profile

• MD or DO with board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology.
• Fellowship training in Genitourinary Pathology.
• Minimum 8 years of pathology experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the applicable state.

Required skills

• Advanced laboratory technologies, including molecular diagnostics and next‑generation sequencing.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development abilities.
