Director, Data & Analytics

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston seeks a senior leader to head its Data & Analytics department, driving a data‑centric culture and delivering self‑service analytics, applied insights, and modern data infrastructure across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi‑year data strategy aligned with Bank priorities, establishing architectural standards and reusable data pipelines.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, translate business needs into technical solutions, and present outcomes to executive leadership.
• Oversee delivery of reliable data pipelines, curated datasets, visualizations, and predictive models while ensuring SLAs and incident management.
• Partner with Federal Reserve System peers on data stewardship, governance, security, privacy, and audit readiness.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high‑performing talent, fostering an inclusive, learning‑oriented culture.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data/analytics, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
• 5+ years of people‑management experience with a track record of attracting and developing talent.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science) preferred.
• Strong executive communication skills and ability to influence senior leadership.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
• Experience with modern visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS or Azure) and ELT/ETL tooling.
• Working knowledge of ML/AI techniques and responsible AI practices.
