Director, Clinical Research – Obesity

About the role

The Director (Principal Scientist) leads clinical research for new and marketed medicines in the Metabolism section of the Atherosclerosis & Metabolism therapeutic area, focusing on obesity and related disorders. This senior position manages the full lifecycle of late‑stage clinical studies, from design through regulatory reporting and publication.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and design clinical trials, creating operational plans aligned with development strategies.
• Monitor and manage ongoing and new trials for investigational or marketed drugs.
• Analyze clinical findings to support safety, efficacy decisions, regulatory submissions and publications.
• Participate in cross‑functional research project teams and support business development assessments of external opportunities.

Required profile

• MD or MD/PhD with industry or academic faculty experience.
• Minimum 3 years clinical medicine experience and at least 1 year in drug development or biomedical research.
• Demonstrated scientific scholarship, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Board‑eligible or certified in a relevant discipline (e.g., Endocrinology, Cardiology) is preferred.
