Diesel Mechanic – Safford, AZ

About the role

CTI Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join its Safford, AZ terminal. You will diagnose, adjust, repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel engines and equipment supporting mining and construction operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on tractors, engines, transmissions, starters, generators and other components.
• Diagnose and repair a variety of trailers (pneumatic, live bottom, belly dump, flatbed, tanker) and company equipment.
• Inspect equipment for safety and structural integrity, obtain parts, and record work in maintenance software.
• Operate maintenance pick‑up truck, forklift and other company equipment; assist with service calls and general maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, no major violations in 5 years).
• At least 18 years old and able to pass a pre‑employment drug test.
• Own set of required tools and toolbox.
• Full‑face respirator and ability to work safely in a high‑noise, hazardous environment.

Required skills

• Diesel engine and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Use of mid‑level mechanical tools, forklift, and pick‑up truck.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work at heights up to 14 ft.
