Diagnostic Technologist – Per Diem

About the role

The Diagnostic Technologist provides high‑quality radiologic imaging under physician direction while adhering to radiation safety standards. This per‑diem position supports patient care at Lehigh Valley Health Network facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic‑quality images, process them, and ensure they are ready for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain radiation protection standards, document exposure factors, collimation, and distance.
• Verify physician orders, attach images to correct patient records, and confirm PACS transfer before study completion.
• Report equipment issues, assist in training new staff, and keep the work area clean and organized.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma or graduate of an accredited Radiography program (less than 1 year experience).
• State of Pennsylvania RT – Registered Technologist Radiology certification and Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to handle confidential medical information ethically and solve technical problems.

Required skills

• Radiographic imaging and radiation safety procedures.
• Operation of PACS and radiology equipment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) skills.
• RT – Registered Technologist Radiology certification.
