Diagnostic Technologist II – Operating Room

About the role

The Diagnostic Technologist II provides high‑quality radiologic imaging in the operating room under physician direction, ensuring patient safety and optimal image quality. This full‑time onsite position includes cross‑campus coverage, rotation, and on‑call duties as required.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and safely move imaging equipment (portables, hybrid rooms, C‑Arms, O‑Arms) within the OR.
• Adjust imaging parameters, ensure proper exposure, collimation, lead shielding, and document radiation metrics.
• Submit images promptly to PACS and verify correct patient linkage within 30 minutes.
• Prepare contrast injectors, verify settings under surgeon supervision, and follow sterile techniques.
• Coordinate exam timing with the surgical team and perform additional duties to maintain department workflow.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Radiography program.
• Registered Technologist – Radiology (RT) license in Pennsylvania upon hire.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) within 180 days of start.
• Ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient transfers.

Required skills

• Operation of OR radiology equipment (C‑Arm, O‑Arm, hybrid room systems).
• Radiation safety practices, including exposure factor selection and shielding.
• Documentation of LMP, fluoroscopy time, mGy, and room time.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and emergency response.
