About the role
The DEXA Diagnostic Technologist provides high‑quality radiologic and bone densitometry imaging under physician direction, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Produce diagnostic radiographic and bone densitometry images and prepare them for radiologist interpretation.
- Analyze bone densitometry data according to established protocols and document all required information.
- Maintain radiation protection standards, use proper exposure factors, collimation, and distance, and ensure equipment safety.
- Verify physician orders, ensure proper patient documentation, and confirm images are transferred to PACS.
- Assist with training of new staff and maintain cleanliness of the work area.
Required profile
- Technical School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited radiography program.
- Less than 1 year of experience; must obtain ARRT certification in Bone Densitometry within 1 year.
- Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) and ability to handle confidential medical information.
