Design Architect

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Design Architect to join its Advanced Facilities group in Columbus, OH. You will help create state‑of‑the‑art mission‑critical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor and life‑science facilities while supporting business development and client engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, layout and detailed architectural design and analysis under general supervision.
• Plan, conduct, and evaluate design work, selecting appropriate architectural techniques and criteria.
• Coordinate design and construction activities, conduct studies and various analyses.
• Lead small to medium‑sized design teams, mentor junior designers, and provide technical guidance.
• Attend project meetings, resolve interdisciplinary concerns, and participate in quality reviews.
• Advance workflows, systems and tools, embracing emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Professional Architecture license in the United States.
• Minimum 7 years of architectural experience, including work with building codes.

Required skills
