Dental Assistant

About the role

Join Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Dental Assistant, supporting dentists in a high‑performing, patient‑focused environment. You will help ensure smooth clinical operations and maintain safety and infection‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and set up equipment and supplies needed for patient treatment.
• Document patient safety issues in the hospital system.
• Perform basic dental radiographic procedures and ensure radiological exposure protection.
• Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain infection‑control protocols, and manage the sterilization room.
• Provide chair‑side assistance to dentists and escort patients into treatment rooms.
• Room patients in Epic, report requests or concerns, and assist in the operating room for dental cases.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 3 years dental assisting experience or less than 1 year with completion of an assisting training program.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of digital radiology.
• Familiarity with dental specialties such as endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, extractions, prosthetics, and pedodontics.
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 25 lb and perform frequent sitting/standing, keyboard use, and patient‑care activities.
