Data Systems Engineer

About the role

Concurrent Technologies Corporation is seeking a Data Systems Engineer to design, implement and maintain data integrations across enterprise systems for its Energy, Resilience and Sustainability Division. The position is remote with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, DC metro area.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain data integrations, metadata pipelines, automated workflows and API‑based exchanges supporting system interoperability.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, relationships and metadata to enable enterprise data governance, classification and lineage.
• Document system integrations, data flows, metadata models and technical processes.
• Collaborate with Power Platform developers, data stewards, analysts and system owners to translate business and governance requirements into technical solutions.
• Own technical workstreams from problem definition through design, implementation, testing and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in systems engineering, data integration, data management or data platform administration.
• Ability to work independently, translate requirements into solutions and resolve technical challenges with minimal oversight.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Common Access Card and a Secret security clearance.

Required skills

• SQL and relational database expertise, data modeling and schema design.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and API integration (JSON/XML).
• Familiarity with metadata management and data catalog tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra or Alation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse, Power Platform and low‑code application development.
• Understanding of data quality, governance workflows and enterprise data cataloging.
