About the role

Join MAPFRE's Data Engineering team to design and operate a cutting‑edge cloud data platform that powers AI and analytics at scale. You will collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to transform MAPFRE USA into a data‑driven organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain core AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS and more.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions and integrate security scanning tools (Snyk, Trivy, Checkov, AWS Inspector).
  • Manage containerized workloads with Docker and orchestration platforms (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
  • Monitor and log systems using CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus/Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk and AWS Security Hub.
  • Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability assessments and incident response activities.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience working in cross‑functional Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR) and IAM best practices.

Required skills

  • AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, CloudTrail, CloudWatch).
  • Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Security tools (Snyk, Trivy, Checkov, AWS Inspector, Splunk, GuardDuty).
  • Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
  • Monitoring/logging (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace).
  • Data technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Snowflake, Airflow, Glue, EMR).
