Data Center Mechanical Engineer

About the role

TensorWave is seeking a Data Center Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and validation of high‑efficiency thermal management systems for hyperscale AI compute facilities. The role combines advanced cooling topology development with hands‑on engineering support during construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and technical validation of liquid‑first cooling solutions for hyperscale data centers.
• Design and model cooling infrastructure—including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and distribution piping—to meet extreme AI compute heat loads.
• Perform CFD modeling to optimize airflow and liquid flow, ensuring thermal containment and energy efficiency.
• Provide engineering guidance during construction and commissioning to achieve optimal PUE/WUE performance.
• Ensure all designs comply with ASHRAE standards, local building codes, and corporate sustainability requirements.

Required profile

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years experience designing, constructing, and commissioning large‑scale HVAC or critical cooling systems.
• Proven expertise in water‑side design, fluid dynamics, and pumping systems.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent chartership is preferred.
• Direct experience with liquid‑to‑chip or rear‑door heat exchanger (RDHX) cooling systems is a plus.
