Cytotechnologist – Anatomical Pathology (Kings Hwy)

About the role

This position performs microscopic screening and diagnosis of gynecological and miscellaneous specimens, assists in collection and preparation of fine needle aspiration specimens, and carries out ancillary preparation, clerical, and quality‑control duties as needed. The incumbent enters negative gynecological results into the computer system, participates in on‑site cytology and continuing‑education opportunities, and maintains confidentiality of patient information.

• Supports departmental goals, adheres to regulatory compliance, and adapts interactions to respect patient privacy.
• Performs specimen collection, preparation, and ancillary processing.
• Conducts quality‑control activities and maintains accurate data entry of results.
• Stays current with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited cytotechnology program.
• Certified Cytotechnologist (ASCP) registration.
• Louisiana CYT license or eligibility.
• No prior work experience required.
