CVD Equipment Engineer

About the role

NXP's Front End Operations is looking for a CVD Equipment Engineer for a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility in Chandler. The engineer identifies and reduces sources of variation and machine faults, defines tool maintenance procedures, trains technicians and peers, and takes part in cross-functional teams and development and transfer activities.

Key responsibilities

• Reduce machine faults, defectivity and sources of variation, and improve tool availability, MTBF and reduce MTTR
• Define and write tool maintenance procedures and specify, source and qualify new equipment and parts
• Train technicians and peers, and present complex equipment data and solutions to diverse audiences
• Work with Maintenance, Manufacturing, Facilities, Analytical Lab and Device Engineering teams, and share Best Known Methods with peers in other factories
• Take part in, and possibly lead, cross-functional teams and support development and transfer activities

Required profile

• BS or MS in an engineering or science discipline
• 6+ years of equipment engineering experience in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to work in a 24x7 environment, handle multiple issues and shifting priorities, and adjust the work schedule as needed
• Experience with at least one tool such as Applied Materials, Centura DXZ, Producer or P5000, or Novellus Concept 2, WJ-999 preferred
• Lean Manufacturing experience highly desirable

• Generate, analyze and interpret equipment and process performance data and act on recurring failures
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Good knowledge of FMEA and 8D methodologies preferred
