Industrial Engineer - Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

NXP's Front End Operations delivers high-quality, scalable, cost-competitive technologies and supply to its customers. The Industrial Systems Engineer works in a high-volume manufacturing facility, creating solutions across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and manufacturing IT. The position is based in Chandler.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with area teams to understand operations, find improvement opportunities and deliver solutions that meet Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals.
• Use a Scrum and Agile approach.
• Establish and maintain accurate production management systems such as capacity modelling, RTD dispatch, fab scheduling and forecasting.
• Improve equipment efficiency (OEE) and cycle time, and raise labour productivity through Lean Manufacturing and best-known methods.
• Communicate business objectives and goals clearly to area teams.
• Carry out strategic capacity planning for equipment and staffing.
• Work with peers in Chandler, Austin and Nijmegen on a consistent approach.
• Define requirements, business processes and run user acceptance testing of IE systems supported by Manufacturing IT, including AI/ML, GenAI and LLM applications for operations.

Required profile

• BS or higher in Engineering; advanced MS degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of semiconductor engineering experience (IT, device, equipment, process or industrial) is advantageous but not required.
• Experience deploying Lean principles, Fab Automation projects and cleanroom work is advantageous.

Required skills

• Statistics, SPC, ANOVA, DOE and strong data analysis (JMP, Minitab or similar).
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Copilot.
• Programming in Python, R or C++, and SQL; BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Databricks experience is advantageous but not required.
