Semiconductor Equipment Engineer

About the role

NXP is hiring an experienced Semiconductor Equipment Engineer in its Chandler office. The role covers maintaining, upgrading and monitoring wafer fabrication equipment used in photo, etch, clean, metrology or film processes, and improving tool reliability, availability and cost performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, upgrade and monitor wafer fabrication equipment supporting photo, etch, cleans, metrology or films
• Identify and reduce variations in process and tool performance
• Increase production capacity on new and existing toolsets
• Support defectivity and scrap reduction efforts
• Define Out of Control Action Plans and improve tool reliability and availability
• Improve process monitoring and sensor capabilities, and qualify alternate parts
• Develop and write specifications, and implement Six Sigma statistical process control methods
• Participate in and lead cross-functional and lean activity teams
• Train technicians and peers, and present complex data and process problems and solutions

Required profile

• BS or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or another technical field
• At least 2 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing supporting equipment
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Export Control Clearance
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work across disciplines in a 24x7 manufacturing facility
• Self-motivated, able to prioritize work independently
