Customer Quality Engineer

About the role

The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) serves as the primary quality liaison between Bosch Rexroth and its customers in the mobile hydraulics sector, handling quality concerns, complaint resolution, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for customer quality issues and communications.
• Investigate complaints and non‑conformances, lead root‑cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive actions using 8D or similar methods.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and quality performance metrics; support PPAP, APQP, and other customer‑specific quality requirements.
• Participate in customer audits, product validation reviews, and new product introductions, providing technical and quality support.
• Coordinate with internal teams (sales, manufacturing, engineering, QA) to address feedback and drive improvements.
• Prepare and deliver quality reports, presentations, and metrics to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Travel to customer sites (domestic and international) up to 30% annually.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, project management, or quality‑focused projects.
• Proven track record in customer‑facing roles, interacting with vendors, OEMs, and end users.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Quality tools and methodologies: 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP.
• Problem‑solving techniques: Six Sigma, Shainin.
• Root‑cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and QMS.
