CT/Radiology Technologist – PRN (Per Diem)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a CT/Radiology Technologist on a PRN (as‑needed) basis to perform routine computed tomography procedures safely and accurately. The technologist will also serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders, operate CT equipment, and ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
• Explain procedures to patients, obtain consent, and manage IV placement when required.
• Perform quality control, maintain regulatory compliance, and assist with departmental operations such as inventory and equipment maintenance.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and students, and support interventional procedures requiring ultrasonic guidance.

Required profile

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT registration (or eligibility within 90 days) and current state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating computed tomography (CT) equipment.
• Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and related software.
• Computer literacy for web‑based applications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
