CT Technologist – Imaging Specialist

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a CT Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures following radiation safety protocols. The role also serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Operates CT equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including IV placement.
• Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Completes quality control procedures and assists with departmental operations such as inventory and equipment maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; required certifications include BLS, ARRT registration in radiography and/or NMTCB, and an unrestricted state license.
• Advanced CT certification recognized by the ACR Registry within two years of employment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows applications and radiology information systems.
• Knowledge of CT procedures, technical terminology, and radiation safety protocols.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
