Corporate Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, business‑minded Corporate Counsel who will serve as the organization’s primary in‑house legal advisor, reporting to the CFO and partnering with the CEO and executive leadership. The role supports strategic initiatives while managing legal risk, with a strong focus on HR and employment matters.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Human Resources on employment policies, compliance, investigations and employee relations.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, licensing, sponsorship, independent contractor, production, technology and SaaS contracts.
• Provide strategic legal guidance to executive leadership on operational and organizational initiatives.
• Advise on intellectual property matters such as copyright, trademark, licensing and content usage, including AI‑related issues.
• Support nonprofit governance, corporate compliance, board matters and organizational policies.
• Monitor changes in federal, state and local laws and recommend practical compliance solutions.
• Manage relationships with outside counsel for litigation, employment, tax and complex IP matters.
• Deliver legal training and guidance to leadership and employees on relevant compliance topics.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in a U.S. state.
• 8‑12 years of legal experience with meaningful in‑house exposure, including HR/employment matters.
• Proven experience drafting, negotiating and managing a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to advise executives on legal risk and strategic decision‑making.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation and communication skills.
• Practical, solutions‑oriented business judgment and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

What we offer

• Salary target of $180,000 – $200,000 per year.
