Cook – North Shore Preserve, Kaua'i

About the role

The North Shore Preserve on Kaua'i is seeking a Cook to join its Food and Beverage Culinary Department. You will support the culinary team by preparing food, handling deliveries, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. This role contributes directly to the unique dining experiences offered to members and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily and seasonal set‑up of the culinary program.
• Prepare stations with mise en place and ensure readiness for service.
• Cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Handle food orders for members and guests promptly and accurately.
• Maintain proper use and temperature control of all kitchen equipment.
• Monitor food quality, rotate stock, and alert the Sous Chef of low inventory.
• Work across various stations (line, salad, prep) as needed.
• Peel, chop, and slice vegetables; prepare meat cuts, fillet and debone fish.
• Receive and store deliveries, and keep work areas clean.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training (preferred).
• At least 1 year of line or prep cook experience in a fine‑dining, luxury resort, or private club setting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and ability to stay calm during busy periods.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
