Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer joins the corporate Engineering team and works at one of our plant locations in Monroe, OH; Jackson, TN; Somerset, KY; or Valparaiso, IN. The role leads plant‑level continuous improvement initiatives, supports new product launches, and ensures best‑practice standardization across sites.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and participate in kaizen events covering cycle‑time analysis, 5S, visual management, error‑proofing, and cell layout.
• Coach, train and mentor plant CI teams on TPS and lean principles.
• Drive manufacturing efficiency using lean, Six Sigma, and other process‑improvement tactics.
• Maintain CI procedures in the Docushare database and update work instructions.
• Support product launch activities to meet cost‑sheet KPIs such as labor content, cycle time, and scrap levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–8 years of continuous‑improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical aptitude with hands‑on troubleshooting of complex equipment.
• Ability to present information effectively to senior management and cross‑functional teams.
