Construction Yardman

About the role

The Construction Yardman will support Merante Companies' trucking and equipment division, ensuring efficient material handling for construction projects. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with the Manager/Lead Dispatcher and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized yard and manage materials and equipment.
• Load, unload, and deliver tools and materials to various construction sites.
• Store equipment properly, ensure it is in good condition, and report issues promptly.
• Coordinate material needs with project managers and site supervisors.
• Follow safety protocols and support field operations as needed.
• Assist the Operations Coordinator with inventory, vehicle inspections, and equipment maintenance records.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a construction yard (preferred).
• Ability to operate loaders, forklifts, and skid steers.
• Basic computer or smartphone proficiency.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and multitasking abilities.
• Understanding of construction terminology and safety practices.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
