Service Technician – Ascend at Old Town
Greystar · Fort Collins
Job description
About the role
The Service Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the property, including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas, meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This full‑time position involves responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.
Key responsibilities
- Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
- Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
- Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting as required.
- Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.
Required profile
- Compliance with Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, including participation in safety meetings and OSHA training.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to respond to on‑call situations.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) in all weather conditions.
Required skills
- EPA Type I and II or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
- All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
- Valid driver’s license (required for operating a golf cart where applicable).
What we offer
- Competitive medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance with low employee‑only costs.
- Generous paid time off, including vacation, personal, sick days, holidays and a birthday day off after one year.
- On‑site housing discounts at Greystar‑managed communities (subject to availability).
- 6‑week paid sabbatical after 10 years of service (and every 5 years thereafter).
- 401(k) plan with company match up to 6% of pay after six months.
- Paid parental leave and lifetime fertility benefit reimbursement up to $10,000.
