Construction Manager II – Capital Projects

About the role

The Construction Manager II will lead capital projects from definition through commissioning and closeout for a major electric utility. You will work closely with the Construction Group, project teams, and external contractors to ensure safe, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery of transmission substations and lines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project life‑cycle, from scope definition and cost estimating to final closeout.
• Develop detailed construction plans, outage schedules, and resource requirements.
• Prepare bid packages, conduct pre‑bid meetings, evaluate vendor responses, and select contractors.
• Perform constructability reviews across all disciplines (site, foundation, electrical, relay, T‑Line) to mitigate costly changes.
• Monitor project schedule, cost, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance; provide routine reporting.
• Oversee contractors on‑site during construction and commissioning of transmission assets.
• Ensure all permits are obtained and documentation is completed for as‑built records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 1–5 years of experience in electric utility transmission & distribution, construction, or related industries.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities.
