Experienced Construction Materials Technician (CMT)

About the role

Join a fast‑paced, employee‑owned construction firm as an experienced Construction Materials Technician. You will conduct on‑site testing of soils, concrete, masonry, asphalt and aggregates for industrial, commercial and transportation projects throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry and asphalt.
• Conduct field concrete tests including slump, air content and temperature.
• Execute field density tests for soils.
• Prepare daily electronic reports and documentation of field activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior staff to ensure specifications are met.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.

Required profile

• Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
• Excellent plan‑reading, math and technical aptitude.
• Flexibility to work extended or non‑traditional hours.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• State DOT, ICC or NICET certifications.
• Minimum 3 years construction materials testing experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 75 + lb and work outdoors in varying conditions.
