Compliance Monitor 1 – Investigate SNAP & TANF Fraud

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services Office of Inspector General seeks a Compliance Monitor 1 to investigate allegations of fraud and abuse within SNAP, TANF, and Child Care programs across the state. This full‑time position is based in Atlanta with regular travel throughout Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fraud and non‑fraud investigations for SNAP and TANF recipients, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Gather, analyze, and organize data from multiple sources, preparing clear investigative reports.
• Coordinate investigative efforts with internal administrators, prosecutors, and other agencies, maintaining proper chain‑of‑custody for evidence.
• Provide expert testimony in administrative hearings and criminal courts.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with at least one year of office, research, or policy review experience.
• Three years of experience determining eligibility for SNAP and/or TANF, or related investigative experience.
• Strong knowledge of SNAP and TANF policies, procedures, and related regulations.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to use technology for data analysis and report generation.
