About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a qualified Commercial Truck Driving License Instructor to deliver classroom and online instruction for aspiring commercial drivers. This position supports the development of safe, skilled drivers through comprehensive theory and practical training.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and standardized course syllabi using the college template.
• Deliver classroom and/or online instruction covering theory and practical applications.
• Evaluate student progress against established grading requirements.
• Maintain documentation such as class rosters, attendance records, grade books, and administrative reports.
• Update course syllabi, materials, and learning outcomes each term.
• Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) for course delivery and student tracking.
• Ensure a safe learning environment by maintaining equipment, posting safety procedures, and handling classroom disruptions.
• Complete required professional development and maintain all teaching credentials and certifications.

Required profile

• Current licensure and certifications required to teach commercial truck driving courses.
• Experience delivering instruction in both classroom and online settings.
• Ability to assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of student learning outcomes.
